BDL Dry Lining was awarded a contract from Lendlease to work on the WestWorks project in White City, London.
This project involved the refurbishment and redevelopment of a structure, formerly used by the BBC, into office space.
We were responsible for providing 31 cores of turnkey, gender-neutral WC cubicle washrooms, with a shower and changing room fit-out, plus floor tiling, to 20 cores of lift lobbies. This included the installation of European white-oak veneered WC cubicles, Corian vanity tops, back-painted glass internal walls, Domus porcelain floor and wall tiles, as well as drylining to ceilings and walls.
We performed much of the manufacturing work for this project offsite. For instance, we manufactured and glazed all the WC IPS walls at our factory in Milton Keynes.
We also worked on the vanity mirror boxes and pre-fabricated the Corian vanity tops with integrated services offsite. By doing this, we improved the quality of the workmanship, reduced the number of site deliveries and cut down on the amount of onsite construction waste removal. This approach also enabled us to create and maintain a more efficient, streamlined works programme.
