Management Accountant

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the accurate and timely preparation of the monthly financial/management accounts
  • Produce financial inputs to the CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation) process in line with the finance month end timetable
  • Perform first level production and review of CVR & Management Accounts with Financial Controller to identify risks and areas for further investigation
  • Produce and review monthly aged creditor, subcontract and debtor reports including work in progress and retentions
  • Ensure all costs incurred are appropriately allocated and recharged
  • Maintenance of opening and closing contracts in COINS in line with contract life cycle
  • Maintain monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Support with cashflow forecasting and year-end requirements
  • Responsible for timely and accurate processing of invoices and receipts to external parties
  • Assist and deliver analytical support, management information and transaction reports relating to expense ledger related activities
  • Year-End Audit – assisting with the preparation and drafting of statutory accounts and liaising with external audit team
  • Proactively and continuously improve processes and systems in line with business needs
  • Assisting with weekly, monthly reporting and analysis
  • Completing Office of National Statistics surveys
  • Support the Financial Controller with other duties and responsibilities as required

The Management Accountant will be responsible for the day to day accounting including management and financial reporting as required.

Provide support and challenge to the business on all Financial matters. Ensure robust controls are in place to minimise risk, prepare accurate, timely Management and Financial Reporting. Provide insight to business to aid decision making.

  • Qualified (CIMA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent)
  • Advanced MS Office, especially Excel (X Look Up and Pivot tables essential)
  • Familiarity with COINS ERP system advantageous
  • Experience in financial accounting and preparation of Balance Sheets
  • Strong knowledge of financial control requirements and audit implications
  • Experience of delivering month end requirements and reporting within a strict timetable
  • Working knowledge and understanding of management accounting (within Engineering, Manufacturing or Construction would be advantageous)
  • Strong organisational and prioritisations skills – applies a methodical approach with attention to detail
