Current Opportunities/Projects:

  • £33m+ infrastructure development in White City. Careys have commenced work on the Imperial College London Infrastructure Development Plan (Phase A), a research led mixed-use development project involving the extension of the White City Campus South. Our initial package of works will run until March 2025, however, future phases planned for this scheme could see Careys securing and delivering continued packages for years to come. JCT (CM/TC 2016) contract with amendments.
  • Our project pipeline is strong, with several other projects commencing in the next 3-months within central and greater London.

We know work/life balance is important, so fully support a combination of site and home working (minimum 3-days a week on-site).


Key Responsibilities

With guidance and support from a roaming Senior Quantity Surveyor your responsibilities will include;

  • Day-to-day administration of the commercial function of the project, i.e. cost management reporting and supporting, change management, procurement as well as sub-contract/special supplies administration.
  • Deep understanding of the project’s contractual and commercial requirements, including contractual compliance, quality and risk management.
  • Thorough understanding and competent execution of the monthly reconciled values and updated forecasts for approval by the Commercial Manager/Senior Quantity Surveyor.
  • Sound understanding around the valuations cycle and associated deadlines, prioritising and managing both your own as well as the team’s time accordingly.
  • Confidence and competency, with minimal input from the Commercial Manager/Senior Commercial Manager with dispute resolution and contractual entitlement.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with Careys clients to agree valuations and variations.
  • Interface with and form productive/effective relationships with the site team(s).
  • Work alongside/support Assistant/Trainee Quantity Surveyors.

About You

These vacancies are best suited to experienced Quantity Surveyors with demonstrable skills developed with a civil engineering contractor. You will be commercially driven and astute, with a flair for building relationships with clients, contractors and the operational team. Candidates must have:

  • Demonstrable experience with a civil engineering contractor, preferably on heavy civils/infrastructure/sub and super structure projects.
  • Expertise in administering high value, multi-disciplinary construction project work packages/contracts utilising forms of contract such as JCT and NEC suites.
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying.
  • Works well to deadlines with strong initiative and self-motivation.
  • Enthusiasm, drive and professionalism in representing Careys with clients and contractors.
