Engage Your Sense Of Adventure

Most of the local activities are held outdoors – as is appropriate for a region with such beautiful scenery. Many are based on or around the truly picturesque Weston Turville Reservoir.

The reservoir was built in 1797, is surrounded by woodland and reedbeds, has a sailing club and angling club and is a perfect spot for birdwatching. From nearby Coombe Hill there are panoramic views of the Aylesbury Vale and Chequers - the Prime Minister’s country residence. Go Ape in Wendover Woods offers zip wires and rope crossings, walking trails and more.

Adults might appreciate the proximity of Weston Turville Golf Club at less than a mile from The Paddocks, with 18 holes over 6,000 yards and with a reputation for warm hospitality. For children, the Weston Turville School is a 3-minute drive from The Paddocks, it caters for up to 210 boys and girls with an age range of 4 to 11 years.

Green & Pleasant Lands

Weston Turville nestles in the Aylesbury Vale and lies at the foot of the Chiltern Hills. It has a convenience store and a village hall that hosts a range of activities from fitness classes to dancing and a camera club.

Much of this historic village is designated a conservation area and many of its buildings have listed status. Lying almost equidistant between the two ancient market towns of Aylesbury and Wendover, Weston Turville benefits from proximity to their shopping and entertainment facilities.

Bistros, Bars, Boutiques And Other Curiosities

This part of the Aylesbury Vale is rich in culture and history with beautiful county houses, theatres, museums and art centres. An eclectic range of dining options is available from hearty pub food to fine dining.

Aylesbury hosts a vintage and craft bazaar every Tuesday with regular general markets both here and in Wendover. The Roald Dahl Museum in Great Missenden will enchant as will his Children’s Gallery in the Bucks County Museum.

Eating out choices are too numerous to mention here, but the local 16th century Chequers Inn enjoys an outstanding reputation.
