We are pleased to announce that Scudder Demolition has joined the select number of high-performing contractors who have been invited to become Demolition Partners of the Considerate Constructors Scheme.

The Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) is a national initiative set up by the construction industry to improve its image and encourage best practice.

All of the sites and companies registered with the Scheme are monitored against a Code of Considerate Practice, which has been designed to raise performance across three main areas of concern: the environment, the workforce and the general public.

Partners are companies that demonstrate and promote the highest standards of ‘considerate construction’ and who proactively choose to improve the image of the construction industry. Becoming a member of the partnership ensures that the public and those working on-site will recognise us as a company that shows care and consideration to the local community, the environment and the welfare of the workforce.

Partners are expected to:

  • Be able to demonstrate a level of compliance, at least one point above the national average, on all scored visits over a 12-month period, prior to the time of request
  • Have a history of registering with the Scheme – normally for a minimum of at least two years – as:
    • A company or supplier
    • Individual projects under Site Registration

On becoming a Demolition Partner of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, Duncan White, Operations Director, Scudder Demolition, commented:

This is important to us in helping further enhance our sites as fantastic places to work. It demonstrates our commitment to respecting the environment and communities we serve, and providing the very best value to our clients. We are proud to support the CCS as it works hard to continually add benefit to the industry through raising standards and expectations. By becoming a Partner, we will have more input into the Scheme, its activities and its direction. We will participate in bi-annual meetings to discuss relevant industry and Scheme related issues.
