Today is Anti-slavery day. At the Carey Group we recognise that the part we need to play goes much further than developing an annual Modern Slavery Statement.

That’s why we are working hard and in collaboration with our clients and supply chain to build capacity, knowledge and resilience.

Our focus for the next year will be to sharing our minimum ethical labour standards, heatmapping our risk and investigating our supply chains more to ensure the systems, evidence and remediation processes help deliver the ethical labour standards we all want to see.

This follows on from the work our teams have delivered over the past two years to raise awareness of modern slavery which includes:

  • A Modern slavery huddle that meets every two weeks
  • Dedicated Modern Slavery landing page on our intranet with dedicated resources including;
  • Posters on modern slavery signs in English, Polish, Punjabi and Romanian
  • Bespoke modern slavery awareness video
  • Links to other useful resources including SCSS and Stronger together, GLAA websites
  • Tool box talks on modern slavery and how to spot the signs

Courtesy of the Supply Chain Sustainability School, we are sharing their ‘spot the signs’ video to help people identify and report exploitation and will continue to provide valuable resources and training tools, equipping our teams with the skills and knowledge on spotting the signs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dzt1ntzdMAc
