Charity project for Ambition, Aspire and Achieve

Giving back to the community, Careys Civil Engineering recently completed works on a four-week charity project for Ambition, Aspire and Achieve (AAA), creating a multi-use games area and preparing for the installation of an accessible greenhouse at their play, sports and youth hub, Terence Brown Arc.

AAA offers young people in Newham and East London bespoke experiences and programmes which support and enable them to overcome difficulties and boost their confidence and self-esteem. Some of these programmes are run at Terence Brown Arc which provides a resource base for young people with disabilities and their families.

We assisted with the material take off and construction of the multi-use games area including LV ducting, drainage, footpaths and fencing. We also excavated and cast a mesh reinforced concrete base for the proposed accessible greenhouse, which will be installed at a later date. The project was supported by Careys in-house Plant & Fleet division and Seneca Resource Recovery who issued complementary plant and waste skips.

Officially opened for use early in November, the games area has since been used every day, with Kevin Jenkins OBE, founder of AAA, and the young people at AAA delighted with the results.

We would like to thank all the companies, suppliers and individuals who contributed to this project and to the operatives who delivered works to an impeccable standard with minimal disruption to the client and the community.
