Overview of the Day

The day began with a deep and insightful talk by Anne Thomas from the mental health charity Mind on suicide and suicide prevention. We then heard from ex-rugby league player Stevie Ward who talked about being authentic, vulnerability and mental health within tough environments.

Glenn Pearson followed with an important presentation on empathy and how important it is when supporting people who may be struggling with their mental health. Steve Kerslake from Construction Sport also took to the lectern to discuss the strong link between sport and its ability to get people talking and the importance of interacting with each other away from the site or office.

Jo Wood from the Lighthouse Club rounded off the day with a talk about impostor syndrome and how the feeling of being undeserving can affect our mental health in the workplace.

The team were then taken for a tour of the stadium.
