As part of our on-going celebration of Careys’ 50th anniversary, Careys Foundation recently organised and held our biggest charitable challenge to date.

Employees from across the Carey Group enthusiastically participated in Le Tour De Careys – a 24-hour static cycle challenge in aid of our five chosen charities for 2019:

  • The Alzheimer’s Society
  • Breast Cancer Now
  • Evelina London Children’s Hospital
  • Research Motor Neurone
  • Breast Cancer Ireland

In our regional offices – from Wembley and Kings Cross to Glasgow and Dublin – as well as at various Careys Civil Engineering projects, more than 250 of our dedicated employees climbed onboard static spin bikes to do their part to help these worthy causes. Together they pedalled for over 24 consecutive hours, spread across a series of time slots.

Outstanding results

The challenge initially aimed to bring in a fundraising total of £35,000 for our chosen charities. Remarkably, we managed to exceed this target, by a substantial margin. Due to the phenomenal levels of support we received across the board – we have raised a total of £54,888!

These funds will help to pay for pioneering research into breast cancer, dementia and motor neurone disease, as well as provide state-of-the-art equipment for Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

This wouldn’t have been possible without…

We’d like to extend a big thank you to all of our generous sponsors for this year’s event:

We’d also like to offer our gratitude to the following PureGym branches, which kindly donated the spin bikes for our static cycle challenge:
