Careys initial scope of works have included delivering a main access road and the construction of a buried foul water pumping station and associated infrastructure. Demonstrating an ability to work to high safety and quality standards and by working closely with project stakeholders, the team were awarded additional works packages including the construction of permanent infrastructure including highways and utilities, temporary facility provision and the remediation of defective infrastructure works.

Facilitating effective planning, clear communication and delivery of works, Careys have formed good relationships with key contacts on the project, including SSE and Vital Energi.

Presented with different challenges, including the presence of fibrous asbestos that were encountered during the construction of the project’s access road, Careys overcame this hazardous substance with the combined efforts of sister company and licensed asbestos specialists ION Environmental. Subsequently removed under licence with the works being notified to and inspected by the HSE.
