Deployment of water protection measures to protect material from spilling into River Kennet
Our works entailed the formation of a new pavilion and kiosk for the area and included reconfiguration and alterations of the public realm across the site. The client’s design comprised of the new pavilion to the north of the river, adjacent to a curved bridge which was installed by our team.
The close proximity to the River Kennet required us to develop detailed risk assessments and a methodology which minimised operatives exposure to the riverfront. In addition to this, we installed water protection measures to prevent waste material created by our work from entering the watercourse.
Newly renovated, larger space public space created for pop-ups and kiosks
We laid the high-quality materials used throughout the project to a precise tolerance, transforming the area with new cladding, paving and soft landscaping. In addition to these works, we were responsible for installing feature lighting, balustrades, service trenching and connections throughout the area.
Our works provided a high-quality, long-lasting visual uplift to the riverside, enabling our client to make the most of their public realm by creating a larger public space that is ideal for performances, kiosks and pop-up stalls. These regeneration works significantly enhanced a previously run-down area, giving it a new, vibrant identity and making it a city destination to be proud of.
