The brand-new arena offers the largest capacity of any football stadium in London, bar the national stadium at Wembley.

As part of our scope of works on this project, we installed 25,000m2 of paving, of various types, across the stadium and external areas – most of which was coated in a specialist waterproofing material, designed to filter rainwater to the plants within the stadium complex.

We were also responsible for putting in place planters, with over 42 trees, street furniture, vents, granite kerbs, drainage channels, irrigation systems, slot and road drains, as well as a range of other soft landscaping works. In addition, we constructed a variety of security features, such as static and rising bollards to be be used for crowd control, as well as concrete block bound paving to assist the police dog facility and also successfully installed slot and road drains.

The specification required high-quality materials to be used, which we have managed successfully. For example, we installed Chinese black granite copings around the planters and Cumella ceramics for the benches and turrets.

In addition, we have been working around a number of live services, many
of which were not communicated through service drawings. Our operatives
are all trained and competent in digging around live services and utilities.

The new 62,000-seat stadium, which replaces the former White Hart Lane arena on the same site, boasts a whole host of first-class features, including:

  • Four huge HD screens, with a combined surface area of 1,000m2
  • A 17,500-seat, continuous south stand, set at a 34-degree angle, which has been designed to allow fans to create a deafening wall of noise
  • A retractable pitch, which will preserve the grass playing surface, by enabling artificial turf to be used for other, non-football events at the stadium, such as concerts or NFL games.
