Demolition, cut and carve, façade retention

Undertaking the complete or partial controlled deconstruction, expert structural alteration and structural supporting works to existing façades.

Since 1981 our expertise and experience on numerous projects has seen us undertake the complete or partial controlled deconstruction and demolition of a structure to ground or sub-levels, management and reuse of site waste, and masonry and severance works to retaining structures.

Structural facades

Our team also have strong project experience of delivering structural supporting works to existing façades requiring retainment, predominantly on Grade I and II listed buildings. These works incorporate the necessary design and installation of major temporary works and supporting frames to maintain the structural integrity of façades where and when required and allow alternative works to coincide.

Our projects include deconstruction works at Ford Dagenham, BBC White City, and Leicester Highcross; cut and carve projects at Coal Drops Yard and Primark Birmingham – where we created Europe’s largest Primark store - and façade retention projects including the Royal Opera House and One Palace Street.

The Primark Pavilions project in the heart of Birmingham’s retail centre was a particularly complex and challenging ‘cut & carve’ of an existing city block. We were able to call upon our strong relationship with the Carey Group; their professionalism and collaborative approach from board level to the team on site, along with their depth of technical knowledge allowed us to carry out this very difficult scheme successfully.

Deconstruction works

We understand the importance of ensuring safety during deconstruction, having developed extensive processes and training to provide this. We also understand the need to mitigate environmental disruption, either from noise, dust and vibration, and regularly undertake measures to minimise these.

Our success stems from our unique self-delivery model, which is centred on using our own specialist operatives, machinery and equipment to deliver our projects, rather than relying on a network of external subcontractors.
