HMP Welland Oaks
HMP Welland Oaks is a 1,700-place Category B prison located next to the existing HMP Gartree in Leicestershire. The new prison will feature seven houseblocks, two large workshops and a dedicated education facility.

The project is a key part of the UK Government's plans to add 14,000 new prison places by 2031 in order to address ongoing capacity issues. The project is set to open in 2029.
Our 180 week site wide scope of works includes:
- 9km storm water drainage
- 193 surface water manholes
- 8.3km foul drainage
- 340 foul man holes
- 85.5k ducting
- 550 space car park
- 5,732m3 attenuation tank
- 188m x 2.2m retaining wall
- 4000 pile caps
- 101,000m3 waste material removed
- 20,500m3 concrete
- 1650t rebar
- 15 buildings, substructures and internal services
The project will see thirty prison leavers secure at least six months’ employment and 50 will gain construction skills that will support their reintegration into the workplace.
