Careys have been appointed by Siemens at Inch Cape offshore windfarm.
Works commenced in Feburary 2024 and will run for 63 weeks. Our comprehensive scope of works includes the development of a 2.6-hectare onshore substation, in East Lothian. Work packages include the main civils and building package, groundworks, substructure, drainage and utilities, external works and superstructure.
We are responsible for the construction of the site infrastructure and the onshore substation, including its associated buildings, in readiness for the arrival of the electrical equipment including transformers and cables to transport the green energy generated by the offshore wind farm.
The project once complete will feature 72 turbines sited 15 kilometers off the Angus Coast in the North Sea. At almost 1.1 gigawatts, the project will become one of Scotland’s largest offshore wind farm projects and set to play a significant role in support of the Scottish and wider UK’s offshore wind targets.
Our scope on the project includes:
The site has a very constrained footprint, requiring thoughtful planning and management of the works to ensure project key dates are achieved. This has been achieved through working closely with Siemens Energy and our supply chain partners in a collaborative manner to co-ordinate and execute of all respective activities to support the delivery of the works.
Throughout the project construction phase we have partnered with Siemens Energy to support local community groups and charities through charitable donations which have a made a real difference supporting the residents of Cockenzie, Port Seton and Prestonpans.
