MODA Springside

Careys has been awarded a package of works at Springside in Edinburgh to deliver a seven storey post tension frame with a single basement level car park and the hard landscaping.

The Springside residential development comprises of studio apartments, one to three-bedroom apartments and town houses, to create an urban village just a few minutes' walk from Haymarket train station. Creating a new neighbourhood in the city, Springside will be home to 476 rental apartments, shops, bars, restaurants, extensive parks and a public square. Residents will have access to lounges, dedicated health and wellbeing zones, a games room and dining club, with terrace views towards the iconic Edinburgh Castle.

Substructure Scope:

  • Earthworks:
  • 16,000 tonnes removed from site
  • 4,000 tonnes to be kept on site for backfiling basement wall
  • Reinforced Concrete (RC) pad foundation including core bases & TC bases
  • Storm & Foul drainage including attenuation tank & filter trench
  • Permeable block paving with associated drainage
  • Ground bearing slabs
  • RC walls around basement structure
  • Sub-station RC works

Superstructure Scope:

• 5 Jump-form cores

• Insitu columns

• Post tension suspended slabs

• Precast stairs and insitu main landing

• Shear walls
